Terms of Service
Effective 30 July 2026 · Last updated 30 July 2026
Who these terms are with
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Daniel Bulut, an individual based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, who operates Inner Day (“Inner Day”, “we”, “us”, “our”). Inner Day is currently provided free of charge and is run by an individual, not a registered company.
By creating an account or using Inner Day, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Inner Day.
The short version
This summary is for convenience only; the full terms below are what govern your use.
- Inner Day is a personal journaling tool — not a health, medical, counselling, or crisis service.
- Nothing it generates is professional advice. If you’re in distress, please seek help (crisis lines are in section 4).
- You own what you write. You give us permission to process it (including with AI) only to run the service — we don’t sell it.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- The service is provided “as is”. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law still apply.
- Either of us can end your use at any time.
1. Acceptance and changes to these Terms
By using Inner Day you accept these Terms. We may update them from time to time; if we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to let you know (for example, by email or an in-app notice) before they take effect. Your continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. The “Last updated” date above shows the current version.
2. Who can use Inner Day
You must be at least 18 years old to use Inner Day, and by using it you confirm that you are. Sign-in uses a one-time code sent to your email, so you are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure. Please provide accurate information (such as a valid email address) and keep your account for your own personal use.
3. What Inner Day is
Inner Day sends you a personal reflection prompt each morning, gives you a private space to write, and uses AI to generate insights and weekly summaries from your writing over time. It is intended for personal, non-commercial use. It is currently free. If we introduce paid features in future, we will make that clear, and these Terms may be updated first.
4. Inner Day is not a health or crisis service
Inner Day is a journaling tool. It is not a health, medical, psychological, counselling, therapy, or crisis service, and it does not provide professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The prompts, insights, and summaries it produces are not a substitute for professional help, and you should not rely on them as such.
If you are in distress or may be at risk of harming yourself or others, please seek help immediately. In an emergency, call your local emergency number (000 in Australia). You can also reach a crisis line: in Australia, Lifeline on 13 11 14 or Beyond Blue on 1300 22 4636; in the US and Canada, call or text 988; in the UK and Ireland, Samaritans on 116 123.
5. Your entries and content
You own the reflections you write. We do not claim ownership of your content. To run the service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and analyse your content — including sending it to our AI provider — solely to operate and provide Inner Day to you, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell your content or use it for advertising.
You are responsible for what you write. Please do not submit content that you do not have the right to share, or that is unlawful.
6. AI-generated content
Your prompts, insights, and weekly summaries are generated by AI. AI can be inaccurate or incomplete, and can misjudge tone or facts — it may, for example, misremember a detail or draw a conclusion you do not agree with. Treat what Inner Day generates as a starting point for your own reflection, not as fact or advice. You use AI-generated content at your own discretion.
7. Acceptable use
Please use Inner Day only for its intended purpose. You agree not to:
- use it unlawfully, or to store or transmit unlawful content;
- attempt to access other users’ data or accounts;
- interfere with, disrupt, overload, or probe the service or its infrastructure;
- reverse engineer, scrape, or copy the service except as permitted by law;
- resell the service or use it to build a competing product; or
- misuse it in any way that could harm Inner Day, its users, or others.
We may suspend or remove access if you breach this section.
8. Availability and “as is”
We work to keep Inner Day running well, but it is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. It is operated by one person, may change, and features may be added, modified, paused, or removed. We do not guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free, or that prompts and emails will always be delivered on time. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties not expressly stated in these Terms.
9. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where we are permitted to limit our liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee, our liability is limited, at our option, to re-supplying the service or paying the cost of having it re-supplied.
10. Limitation of liability
Subject to section 9, and to the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Inner Day, and Daniel Bulut as its operator, will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the service.
- You acknowledge that Inner Day is a journaling tool provided free of charge, that its prompts and summaries are AI-generated, and that you rely on them at your own risk, including in relation to your wellbeing.
- To the extent we can limit our total liability to you, it will not exceed AUD $100 (or, if greater, the amount you paid us to use Inner Day in the 12 months before the claim).
11. Ending your use
You can stop using Inner Day at any time — unsubscribe, pause, or ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. Sections that by their nature should survive — such as content-licence limits, disclaimers, and the limitation of liability — survive termination.
12. Third-party services
Inner Day relies on third-party providers to operate (including Anthropic, Supabase, Vercel, Resend, and Trigger.dev — see the Privacy Policy). We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, or availability of these providers beyond our reasonable control, though we choose them carefully and hold them to appropriate obligations.
13. Our intellectual property
Inner Day — including its name, design, software, and the content we create (other than your entries) — belongs to us. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Inner Day for its intended purpose. These Terms do not give you any other rights in our intellectual property.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and you and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria. If a dispute arises, we ask that you contact us first so we can try to resolve it directly — most issues can be sorted this way. If you use Inner Day from outside Australia, you are responsible for complying with any local laws that apply to you.
